Obituary of Ivan McMahon

Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family, on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the age of 82 years. Ivan is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Gwen, his children, Lorraine (Paul) Banton, Ron (Rita) McMahon, Marlene (Mark) Starr, and Darryl (Sarah) McMahon, grandchildren, Jason (Gwen) Banton, Mike (Amy) Banton, Kelly Banton, Shannon (Matt) Bruce, Danielle and Brandon Starr, Chris, Keegan, Riley and Emily McMahon as well as seven great-grandchildren. He will also be remembered by his sisters and their families, Melvey Houston of Toronto, Sadie Constable, Sylvia Davis, Irene Sloan and Dorothy Buckley all of Northern Ireland. Ivan was predeceased by his daughter Carolyn in 1980 and two brothers and four sisters. Ivan and Gwen have attended Creekside Community Church for many years. A funeral service to celebrate Ivan's life will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, December 2 at 10:30 am with Pastor Ken Taylor officiating. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
