Obituary of Hedwig Kunert

KUNERT, Hedwig (Hedy) Katharina (née Löschnig) passed away peacefully at the age of 86 on Thursday, December 15th, 2011. She was born on May 8, 1925 in Gladbeck, Germany, and immigrated to Canada in 1953. After a brief but memorable adventure in Newfoundland, she became a lifelong resident of Kitchener-Waterloo. Hedy was predeceased by her brothers Dominik, Georg, and Albert, and sister Liesl, and by her former husband of 23 years, Eric Kunert. She is survived by her daughter Helen (Toronto), and her son Paul with wife Leslie (Waterloo). Oma will be lovingly remembered by her granddaughters, Sarah and Hannah. Friends are invited to share their memories of Hedy with her family during a memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
