Obituary of Alice Gartung

Alice Christina Gartung, Passed away peacefully at Trinity Village Long Term Care Centre on December 29, 2011. Dearly loved mother of Laurie Weiler and loving Grandma to Joey, Robbie and Jennifer Weiler; and of Sarah and Edward Gartung. Pre deceased by her loving husband, Edgar (Ed) in 1985. Daughter of the late Elizabeth Grace Howson and Charles Michael Wunder. Predeceased by a daughter Jennifer in 1958 and son Stan in 2001. Much loved sister of Edna Flannery (late Ben) and Charles Wunder (Bernice). Predeceased by three brothers, Jack (late Edna), Herb (Anne) and Gerald (Shirley) and one sister Margaret (late Pat). Fondly remembered by David Weiler and by Susan Rivard. Alice was born in Kitchener and lived in KW all of her life. Alice was a former employee of Mutual Life of Canada and also the Waterloo Region District School Board. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and also a former member of Christ Lutheran Church. Visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Monday January 2, 2012, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday January 3, 2012 at 10:30 am with Pastor Nancy Kelly officiating. Private interment at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
