My sincerest condolences and prayers to all John's family. I have known John for about 58 years. We kept contact and worked together in Canada and Bermuda. John was always the man with a deep and sympathetic heart for those who received his counseling. On a personal level he was a true Italo-calabreze. As seminarians Cundari, Mancini, Orlando and Firetto were slated to study in Rome. This did not happen. Now I am the only one left of the famous quartet. I thank God for the friendship and goodness I shared with them all. John had a great influence on all of us. May he rest in peace.

My deepest sympathy to John's family. John and I taught at Corpus Christi high school many years ago. Although I haven't been in contact with John since them, I remember him with much affection and admiration as an excellent teacher and gentle and good man. My prayers are with his children and grandchildren.

I am John's cousin from Toronto Canada (originally from Sault Ste. Marie, our hometown). John was someone who I always admired as a young person growing up in the Sault. He was very close to my Mother Angela and had a great kinship with my Dad Orlando with whom he shared the love of education and his deep faith. When I later moved to Toronto, John became not only a dear friend to me but also a mentor in both my personal and professional life. Both Jerry , my husband and I enjoyed some great visits to St. Clements. John was a person who understood people and possessed a great charisma which accounts for his professional success with students and educators alike. To this day, when working with students and colleagues I find myself quoting phrases and sharing ideas that were passed on to me by John. To Mark, Eric and all the family, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers and that I carry John's memory close to my heart.
With love and respect- Cousin Mary Lou
