Dorothy had many friends and we were fortunate to be counted among them. We will dearly miss her. But we have lots of good memories of times spent at the cottage and at home; the New Year's Eve get-togethers, the card games and the laughs. Dorothy had an easy-going manner - she always took the time to smell the roses - a trait that seems so rare in these hectic times. May she find peace and joy in that place that the Lord has prepared for her where every tear will be wiped away and suffering will be no more.

Dearest Dorothy,
When I think of you, I remember you at the age I am now - tanned, with a perm, and driving a white convertible. That is how I will remember you.
I think of scrabble games, and cucumber with salt, of joyous and free times at the cottage, summer sausage on Kaiser buns with cans of Coke, euchre games, hours of freedom to play and imagine and just to be, and of course, who can forget the time you bought Lisa and me the Playgirl Magazine with a Christopher Atkins centrefold - our introduction to the male form?!
I think it is impossible to put down in words the gratitude I feel or to convey how you made a difference in my life. I am so sorry and so sad that you had to confront and deal with cancer. It is a horrible disease and those of us who love you hate the fact that you had it.
You died as you lived, still giving back and showing the same strength and dignity which you showed throughout your life. No one can ask for more than to leave this world better than they found it - you achieved that in spades.
