Obituary of Norman Robinson
Passed away at Freeport Hospital on Thursday, January 19, 2012, at age 88.
Beloved husband of Dorothy (Lidstone) and the late Mabel (Hillgartner); loving father of Donna (Chris) Masterson of Chatham, Noreen (Barrie) Faulkner of Bracebridge, and Brian (Rachelle) Robinson of Kitchener; loved grandfather of four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and dear brother of Tom (Evelyn) Robinson of Etobicoke and Kay (Roy) Taylor of Guelph; brother-in-law of Dorothy Robinson, Edna Flewelling and Ralph Hillgartner. Norm will also be fondly remembered by his extended family, Janet (Peter) Atkinson of Port Elgin, Ann (Dave Penfield) Bishop of Calgary, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by a sister Eileen (Rudback) and a brother Ken.
Norm was an active member of Emmanuel United Church, Kitchener, an avid golfer of Dundee Golf Club, and was a retired Vice-President of Canada Alloy Casting. Norm served in the RCAF during the Second World War and as past president of Ridgetown Kiwanis Club. He also volunteered at Sunnyside Home, Kitchener.
Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, January 24th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Bruce Sweet officiating.
A reception will immediately follow at the funeral home with interment in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo afterward.
