Obituary of Dennis Lamourea

Passed away, peacefully, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener on Sunday, January 29, 2012, in his 87th year. Beloved husband and best friend to Bette (nee Lawson) for 64 years. Loving father of Rick and partner Linda Grant of Kitchener and Paul (who predeceased him in 1984); father-in-law of Carol (husband Michael Casey) of Sarnia. Proud grandfather of Steven (Chrissie), Paul, Carrie (Christopher), Jeff (Lisa), Mike (Darcy) and great-grandfather of Nicholas, Casey, Carter, Madeline, Owen, Addison and Leyton. Dear brother of Alfred (Linda) and Agnes Bet (Theo). Dennis will be fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Ellen (Nan) Lamourea. Dennis was a decorated Veteran of the Second World War and was retired from J.M. Schneider. He was a passionate golfer for over 50 years and a member of Doon Valley and Rockway Golf Clubs. Dennis volunteered at the Kitchener Auditorium for 10 years. He will always be remembered for his keen sense of humour and devotion to family. Cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, February 2, 2012 from 1 to 2:45 p.m. A celebration of Dennis' life will follow in the chapel at 3 p.m. with a reception afterwards in the funeral home's Fireside Reception Room.
