Obituary of Arthur Freer

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at Grand River Hospital, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Joan and father of Susan Laurin, wife of Victor, and Paul Freer, husband of Joanne. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Christopher (Jane), Eric (Helen), Robert (Maggie), and Michael (Jen) Laurin; Katie (John Daley), Kyle, Alana (Eli), and Marisa Freer. Art served overseas during WWII as a Sapper with the Royal Canadian Engineers and was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #530, Waterloo. Art was self-employed as an eavestrougher for most of his working life. He enjoyed fishing at Mellow Lake, curling, horseshoes, and socializing with his many friends. Art's family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S, Waterloo. The memorial service in celebration of his life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at 11:00 am, with a reception to follow.
