Obituary of Edward Maggs

Edward "Ted" Thomas Maggs Passed away peacefully at his home, with his daughter Jennifer and Sharon Lamb at his side, on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the age of 86. Predeceased by his beloved wife Greta in 2007. Ted is survived by his daughter Jennifer and her husband Alec McIntosh of Toronto, brother John and his wife Poppy Maggs of Fergus and their family, sister-in-law Pauline Rouse of Brighton, England and relatives in the U.K. as well as Alec's sister Sharon, who played a significant role in Ted's care, and her husband Joe Lamb of San Francisco, California. Ted emigrated with his family from England in 1957 and worked with Union Gas in Waterloo until his retirement. He was a veteran of the Second World War, served with the Royal Air Force and participated in the Liberation of Europe. Friends are invited to share their memories of Ted with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of the funeral home, on Saturday, April 14, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Canon Christopher Pratt officiating. A reception will follow immediately in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
