Obituary of Virginia Mahoney

Passed away peacefully, with family at her side, at Pinehaven Nursing Home, Waterloo on Friday, April 6, 2012 in her 86th year. Born in St. Clements, Ontario on May 13, 1926 a daughter of the late Eugene and Eva (nee Weiler) Koebel. Beloved mother of John Mahoney (wife Judy) and Maryann Mahoney. Cherished grandma of Julie MacKinnon (Dan) and Michael; great-grandma of William and Maggie MacKinnon and Jordan and Ryan Mahoney. Dear sister of Henrietta Mason. Virginia will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews across Canada. Predeceased by her husband, Gerald Mahoney on April 21, 1992; sisters, Madeline Trachsel, Dorothy Findlay, Cecilia Koebel (in infancy); and brothers, Lloyd Koebel and John Koebel. After living in Brampton for 41 years, Virginia returned to the Waterloo area in 2006. Friends are invited to share their memories of Virginia with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, April 11 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, April 12 from 9:30 - 10:15 a.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, April 12 at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home with burial at Saint Clement RC Cemetery, St. Clements after the reception.
