Obituary of Alexander Ross
Died peacefully at St. Mary's General Hospital on Tuesday, April 10, 2012. Born in Durham on November 28, 1945, he was raised on a farm in Holstein by his parents Florence and Murray Ross.
A loving husband, father and grandfather; survived by his wife Jane; children Heather and Bruce Craggs of Caledon, Jeffrey and Jessica Ross of Baden and grandchildren Hillary, Sarah and Michael and grand doggy Tyson.
Predeceased by his siblings Bill (Stella) Ross and Shirley (Bruce) Clark.
Alex was a member of the Ironworker's Union 736 since 1969; longtime employee of Lackie Bros., Nicholls-Radtke, BFC Industrial and Evans Industrial. Has been retired for 11 years, enjoying cottage life, travelling, family, friends and working in his workshop, "Alex's Playhouse".
Memorial visitation will take place at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Rev. John Young officiating. Reception immediately following the service in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home. Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service to follow.
The family wishes to acknowledge the care and support of Dr. K. Luscott and staff at the Wellesley Township Health Centre, doctors and staff at the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, CCAC and Care Partners Team 7. A special thank you to the doctors and staff on the 7th floor of St. Mary's Hospital. We especially thank our circle of friends for their love, support, meals, visits and phone calls.
