Obituary of William Harrold

Passed away unexpectedly from cancer at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at age 77. He was the childhood sweetheart and best friend of Shirley Hassum Harrold for 53 years; loving father of Penny (Glenn),Todd and Tim; devoted grandfather of Jeffrey, Mark and Devon Hughes, and Eric, Daniel and Sarah Harrold. Don will be greatly missed by their dachshund, Pumpkin. Lovingly remembered by Bonnie and Stuart Macdonnell of Hudson, Ohio. Predeceased by father Alfred, mother Margaret and brother Alan Harrold. Don worked for 35 years with Electrohome and in retirement he and Shirl enjoyed their dream of travelling while living aboard his boat for several years. Don also enjoyed several years at his winter home in Florida. Among his many passions were volunteering his computer expertise at the local paper, duplicate bridge and gardening. To honor Don's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. A special thanks to Dr. Ruth Adler for all her care and support.
