Obituary of Herbert Wagner

Passed away peacefully at Leisureworld Caregiving Centre in Elmira on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the age of 91. Predeceased by his wife, Betty (Elizabeth) nee Baetz in 2010; son, Paul Wagner in 1984; parents, Daniel and Margaret Wagner; and ten brothers and sisters. Herb is survived by his sons, Ross Wagner (Dianne) and Richard Wagner (Linda); grandchildren, Dana, Steven, Jeffrey, Robert, Melissa, Joshua; and great-grandchildren, Jessica and Ben Chorney, Charlie and Finn Wagner. Herb is also survived by his sister-in-law, Helen Wojic and brother-in-law, Robert Baetz (Judy). Herb proudly served his country in the Highland Light Infantry from 1941 to 1945. He was a life-long member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Waterloo where he volunteered many hours of time. He retired from Dominion Tire (later Uniroyal Goodrich) and the Waterloo County Board of Education. In his retirement, Herb enjoyed being a handyman to many friends, family and neighbours. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Herb during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, April 18 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Visitation will continue at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 78 John St. W., Waterloo on Thursday, April 19 from 10- 10:45 a.m., followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Krestick officiating. A luncheon will follow the service in the church hall with interment afterwards at Memory Gardens, Breslau.
