Dear John and Lynn: Your Mother and I shared a unique friendship. It developed over many evenings of playing scrabble, sharing a few cups of tea and biscuits and her rare, delightful music. Very seldom did we share a serious game of scrabble, at times some of our words were questionable, to say the least. But, we laughed, sang along with music, when ever we could remember the words. Irene was a remarkable, interesting, caring and humours lady. She shared some interesting and funny stories of her past and enlightened me on her career, which I found most interesting. Your Mom will be fondly remembered in my heart. God is receiving a special Angel. Respectfully, Linda Verth

What a wonderful lady she was! Irene's apartment door was across the hall from me & I was so grateful one day when the hydro went out & Irene had hot cup of tea to offer me. I further got to know her as an employee at Forest Heights. I will will remember her as a very talented and independent lady.

Rest in Peace dear Irene. You have lead a good life and died peacefully surrounded by your loving family.
Irene was a warm vibrant and for me a very welcoming person.She and John's father George took me into their home in 1967 which I was privileged to share with them for many weeks until I had a job and was able to move on. Subsequently the following April Irene and George stood in for my parents when
I married Janet in Wales. I remember them fondly and very often. With great affection.
