Obituary of Anne Trussler
Passed away peacefully on April 30, at the York Central Long Term Care Facility in Richmond Hill.
Anne will be remembered by friends and a family that brought her much support and enjoyment. She was predeceased by her husband Irvine Byron in 1986. She was mother to Jim, Jane (Wayne Alexander) and Bill (Anne Boland). Grandmother to Greg (Kristine), Randy (Lizette), Melissa, Douglas (Blythe) and Tanya. Great Grandmother, "GG", to Madeline, Lauren, Liam, Kyle and Axel.
Anne was born in Glen Morris in southwestern Ontario and spent her youth in the area around Paris, Ontario. After completing her teaching certificate she taught school until she met Irv. They were married in Bala, Ontario and moved to the KW area where she was kept busy with her three children.
Anne was a member of St Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Kitchener, where she was a Choir Mother and Treasurer of the Women's Auxiliary. She was a member of Westmount Golf and Country Club for many years.
Devoted to her family, Anne still found time for other activities. In her youth she was an accomplished baseball player. After marriage she took up curling and was on the Ontario Women's Championship Team for 1953. She was always interested in nature and in particular, birds. She and her friend, Veryl Finlay were a fixture at Point Pelee every spring and she never went for walks without her bird viewing binoculars. An avid gardener, she had a vast knowledge of plants and trees. Anne was always interested in intellectual pursuits and doing the cryptic crossword from the Globe and Mail each morning. In addition to doing the accounts for a small family business, she was a volunteer for the KW Symphony for more than 50 years. Anne had a long and enjoyable life. In her latter years, she endured some significant health issues but the comfort and friendship of her family and friends sustained her for many years.
