Obituary of Dorothy Thatcher

Passed away at Grand River Hospital on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Beloved wife of the late W. Ronald (1997); loving mother to Becky (Ronald) Heck and Donna (David) Graves. Second mother to Eileen Stark and Marian Bast whom she loved like her own daughters. She will be missed and forever loved by her grandchildren, Vicki Heck, Cheryl (Tim) Burry, Wendy Jackson, Dawn (Jay) Campbell, Derek (Raquel) Hitchcock, Daron Graves and Christopher Thatcher. Proud great-grandma to Brittany, Taylor, Cameron, Katrina, Ashley, Owen, Sierra, Molly, Kristen, and Kyle whom she loved with all her heart. Predeceased by her son Howard (2004), her sister Jean Smith and her brother Robert Arnott. For the last seven years Dorothy resided at Emmanuel Village. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Kugler, Nursing Staff, Personal Care Workers, Housekeeping and Dietary Staff for their kindness and affection. Dorothy enjoyed knitting, playing cards, bingo and relaxing and chatting with all her new friends at Emmanuel. Friends and relatives are invited to the Erb and Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday May 9, 2012 from 1-2pm A celebration of Dorothy's life will be held on, at 2 p.m.in the chapel of the funeral home. A reception will immediately follow at the funeral home.
