Ines Grespan

Obituary of Ines Grespan

Passed away peacefully in her 90th year, surrounded by her family, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener on Saturday, June 2, 2012. Enes was the beloved wife of the late Ferruccio (Fred) Grespan for 60 years, cherished mother of Rebecca Renwick, Paul (JoAnn) Grespan, Sonja Adele Anderson, Michele Grespan, Claudia Semenuk (deceased), Peter Grespan and Janine (David) Sharp, and adored grandmother of Erica, Lakin, Laura, Sierra, Benjamin, Jesse and Bram. She will be greatly missed by her dear sister-in-law Ida Lee Grespan and is predeceased by her brother John Arpa and brother-in-law Vito Grespan. Enes was a consummate homemaker for her children and husband; her family was the focus of her life. Her greatest pleasure was her relationships with extended family and friends. Characteristic of her caring and empathetic nature, she enjoyed involvement in serving the wider community, expressed through her volunteer work for the Cortina Club, the Catholic Women's League and the New Dawn School. One of the greatest gifts Enes shared with others was an ability to listen with understanding and offer her clear and humble wisdom in response. She lived with elegant simplicity and all she accomplished in her rich life was underpinned by kindness and deep generosity. Enes was born in Glen Christie, Ontario, December 6, 1922, attending primary school in the village and high school at Loretta Academy, Guelph. She worked briefly in the woolen mill in Hespeler as a clerk secretary and married Ferruccio, at St Mary's Church Guelph October 19, 1946, living in Hamilton until they moved to Kitchener in 1952. A devout Catholic, she was a member of the congregation at St Teresa's Church for more than 50 years. Friends are invited to share their memories of Ines with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish Prayers will be held at 8:45 pm.
