Obituary of Joy Preece

Passed away peacefully on June 21, 2012 at Freeport Health Centre, Kitchener at the age of 85. Beloved wife of the late Elroy "Curly". Loved mother of Tom and his wife Mary Anne Scheerer. Cherished grandma of Tom (fiancée Stacey) and Ryan (Rachel). Dear great-grandma of Hunter, Skye, and a soon to be born great-granddaughter. Predeceased by her parents George and Mathilda Buchanan, and sisters Vera, Beatrice, and Pearl. Joy was a proud 50 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch 530. Friends are invited to share their memories of Joy with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Sunday, June 24 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, June 25 at 10:30 a.m. Monsignor Edward Sheridan as Celebrant. A reception will immediately follow. Private interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. The family would like to thank Dr. King and Dr. Ward, ParaMed palliative care nurses, especially Anita, and all of the palliative care staff at Freeport.
