I met Ollie many years ago through a work contact, which developed into a most valued friendship. His life values were soon evident---honesty, love of family, kindness, and fairness. He was a proud Canadian army veteran of World War II.
We miss Ollie on our Saturday morning coffee outings. He always showed up with a good sense of humour.

Our deepest sympathies are extended to the Hie family during this difficult time. Our Best Wishes as you continue on and, in the next few weeks ahead. Our thoughts are with you all. Our memories will make us smile. My husband always talked about the best drinks that Mr. Hie would stir up. My parents met Mr. and Mrs. Hie on a trip, and continued to visit each other for many years. Again, our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I (Allan) met Ollie in his role as a "small appliance repairman". (Small was not a description of him, but rather the size of the appliances that he fixed!) This was in the mid 70s at the Cambridge St. Clair Appliances. He would drop in weekly to pick up and return any radios, toasters, etc., that customers brought in. For years, after .my father retired, he was a weekly visitor at the Kitchener store for the Saturday coffee get-together. Carol and I will miss Ollie, but have plenty of fond memories to keep him in our thoughts.

I first met "Ollie" about 60 years ago through business. For many years, we talked to each other every day. Until a month ago, we still stayed in touch several times a week. I miss Ollie already, and this loss will be shared by everyone who knew him.
