Obituary of Gertrud Schmidt

Passed away peacefully on Friday June 29, 2012, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener at the age of 88. Predeceased by her husband Hans Josef Schmidt, and her son Uwe Schmidt. Loving mother to Doris (Peter) Ahlswede of Germany, Dieter (Ella) Schmidt of Waterloo, Gunter (Stacey) Schmidt of Buckhorn, Lorraine Schmidt of Newmarket, Dennis (Sandy) Schmidt of Edmonton and Helga Schmidt of Waterloo. Cherished grandma of Thomas, Gerald, Rob, Paul, Danielle, Jessica, Simon, Holly, Rose, James and Madison; great grandma of Steve, Emily, Sarika, Charya, and Isla. Gertrud is also survived by her siblings Herman Plümer and Else Plesse. Following Gertrud's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial to celebrate her life will be held at The New Apostolic Church, 162 6th Ave. in Kitchener at 2pm on Saturday, July 28th. Anyone wishing to pay their respects is welcome to attend.
