Obituary of Anthony Elliott
Passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him, at the age of 73. Tony is survived by his wife Bernadette of 40 years, sons Patrick and Martin, brothers Tom (Marie) Elliott, Gerard Elliott, Miles (Geraldine) Elliott, Derek Elliott, sisters Olive (John) Swaine, Carmel (Michael) Doyle, Eileen (David) Duffy, Deirdre (William) Mears, his beautiful granddaughter Hannah and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. Tony was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to all. Predeceased by his father Tommy, mother Violet and loving step-mother Mary. Tony was a parishioner of St. Agnes RC Church. Born in Dublin, Ireland, he lived most of his life in Kitchener, Ontario. Tony worked as an Electrician for over 53 years, was an extremely hard worker and loved what he did. Tony also loved soccer - both on and off the pitch. He was an avid supporter of Manchester United and spent the majority of his life playing at a number of different clubs, including Bluebell United (Dublin), St. Patrick's Athletic FC (Dublin) the Kitchener Rangers, Guelph Oaks, Guelph Kossuth Soccer Club, Fergus Soccer Club and the Duke of Wellington Bulldogs. A special thank you to the nurses at the Brampton Civic Hospital for their loving care and support. Friends are invited to share their memories of Anthony with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Agnes RC Church, 75 Bluevale St. N., Waterloo on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Martin Mikulski, S.A.C. as Celebrant. Cremation will follow.
