Obituary of Donald Weaver

Passed away unexpectedly on July 15, 2012 at Bankside Terrace, Kitchener in his 91st year. Beloved husband and best friend of Catherine (Dolly) Weaver for over 67 years. Cherished father of Debby and Brian Minielly, Dave and Nancy Carlisle-Weaver, Dan and Susan Weaver. Dearly loved Boppa of Jesse (Lale), Laura (Sean), Justin (Amanda), Kyle (Noi), Kristin (Stewart), Brittany, Kelsey; great Boppa of Parker and Paige. Missed by his brother Harry, sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Don was predeceased by his parents Edwin and Luella Weaver (nee Schmidt). Don served his country during the Second World War in the Royal Canadian Navy, having spent two and a half years on the corvette HMS Oakville on convoy duty in the North Atlantic. After many enjoyable years at Mutual Life of Canada, he retired as corporate secretary. He enthusiastically volunteered in the community including Calvary Memorial United Church, and the beginning of the KW Community Foundation as executive director. Friends are invited to share their memories of Don with his family during visitation at Calvary Memorial United Church, 91 Gruhn Street, Kitchener on Friday, July 20, 2012 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. A Reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
