Obituary of Leslie Lees

Passed away peacefully on Monday, July 16, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital, at the age of 96. Leslie was predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Mabel. He will be fondly remembered by his dear friend Molly Buckrell. Leslie was the loved father of Glen Lees (Annemarie), and Katherine Lees (Bob Greaves). He was the dear grandfather of Andrew Lees (Tammy Smith-Lees), Renee Lees (Josh Koehler), Vicki Lees (Matt Manell), and Rebecca Reichard, Jonathan Reichard, and Christian Reichard (Shaye Harris), and dear great-grandfather of Taggart and Cooper, and Julian and Jakob. He was the step-grandfather of Carly Greaves. He is also survived by his sister Freda, a niece and several nephews. Leslie was predeceased by his sister Peggy and his brother Fred. Leslie taught navigation with the RCAF during World War II, and spent 32 years criss-crossing Canada while working for Burns Foods. Les was also a proud member of the Cameron Heights Kiwanis Club, and the Mr. And Mrs. Club at Trinity. Thanks to Dr. Wang and Dr. Fielder, and the nurses on the 5th floor at St. Mary's Hospital for their care and support during Dad's final illness. Leslie's family will receive family and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday July 20 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 21 at Trinity United Church, 74 Frederick St., Kitchener at 1 p.m. A reception will follow at the church.
