Obituary of Shirley Smith

SMITH, Shirley Julia (nee Beyers) Passed away peacefully on Monday, July 23, 2012 at Lisaard House, Cambridge. Beloved wife of Rhoderick James Smith and her precious cat, Pica. Loving mother of Michael Schmitt (Deborah) and Dan Schmitt (Glenda). Dear grandmother of Natalie, David and Kateland. Shirley will be remembered by her step-children, Rod (Dawn), David, and Dean (Rosanne) Smith. Remembered by their children, Brendon, Erin, Megan, Alexander, Kesh, Aurenn, Hanah, Nicholas and Naomi. Shirley was predeceased by her parents Emil and Frieda Beyers and her siblings, Leatrice, Robert, Grant, Elaine and Doreen. She leaves behind brothers George, Earl and Richard Beyers. Shirley retired from Mutual Life in 1991 and enjoyed retirement in Oliphant until 2003 when she and Rod returned to Waterloo. Cremation has taken place. At Shirley's request, a memorial service will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 12 noon with visitation prior to the service from 11 - 11:45 a.m. A reception will immediately follow the service.
