Obituary of Francis Hughes
Passed away peacefully with family at his side early morning Wednesday, August 1st, 2012 at Pinehaven Nursing Home in Waterloo, in his 85th year.
Beloved husband of the late Margaret Hughes (nee Baetz) who predeceased him February 7th, 1999. Loved father of Susan of Kitchener, Dale and his wife Debbie of London, Jim and his wife Anita of Canmore, Bernie of Sudbury, John of Oklahoma City, Roger and his wife Gayle of Tiny Township, June of Calgary and Jane and her husband Paul Kelly of Waterloo. Sadly missed by 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Survived by sisters Mary of Walkerton, Marlene and her husband Francis Gross of Hanover, Irene and her husband Harold Hunt of Kitchener and by brothers Angus and his wife Millicent of Windsor and Father Raymond Hughes of Ft Myers, Florida, sisters in law Connie Baetz and Helen Wojick both of Waterloo as well as many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by parents Christina and Thomas Hughes, brothers J.D. and Leo Hughes and sister Colleen Grischow.
Francis enjoyed a full and productive life and was a longtime member of St Mark's Lutheran Church, Waterloo, Legion Branch 530 and the KW Khaki Club.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Pinehaven Nursing Home for the compassionate care of Frank.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Frank with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, August 3, 2012 from 7- 9 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 825 King St. W., Kitchener on Saturday, August 4 from 10 - 10:45 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener followed by a reception in the church hall.
