Dolby, William Bainton (Bill)
Sept. 21, 1918 - Sept. 28, 2012
Father passed away peacefully at home shortly after celebrating his 94th birthday from age related illness. Bill was predeceased by his parents Agnes (Blake) 1976, John in 1981 and his wife Sylvia (Bobbitt) 1993.
Survived by his loving and devoted partner Joyce Huntley of 17 years; son John and his wife Dianne of Waterloo, along with grandchildren Christina of Toronto and James of Vancouver. Bill was a World War 2 veteran, suffering near fatal wounds in Belgium near the end of the European campaign. Bill was a long time Legion member receiving his 65 year pin from Branch 530 this past year. Bill retired from the Federal Tax office in Kitchener in 1981 and has since enjoyed his leisure time between Florida and Waterloo.
Cremation has taken place with arrangements entrusted to the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home 171 King St. S., Waterloo. A private family celebration of Bill's life will follow at the family home with interment at Parkview Cemetery.
Many thanks to the Waterloo Regional Community Care Access, The Federal Veteran's Association, Waterloo Legion Branch 530 and a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Donna Ward and staff nurses, Sarah, Becky, Paula and Regan who all contributed in allowing Bill to spend his final months in comfort at home.
