Obituary of John Snyder

SNYDER, John Wilfred John Wilfred Snyder died peacefully at St. Mary's General Hospital on Tuesday afternoon October 2, 2012 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by his first wife, Lois Buckwalter (1990) and his second wife Iva Taves (2011). John will be missed by his children Jed (Michele Dickinson) of Cambridge, Patricia (Christopher Dustin) of Connecticut, Julia (Hans Behrendt) of Germany, and granddaughter Abigail Dustin; and Iva's family, Mila, Mark, Jilienne, Caitie, Jacob and Jesse Reusser, Mary Taves and Ruth Fallding. Cremation will take place. The family will receive friends during a memorial visitation at Rockway Mennonite Church, 32 Weber St. W., Kitchener on Friday, October 5, 2012 from 6 - 9 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate John's life and faith will be held at Rockway Mennonite Church on Saturday, October 6 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Scott Brubaker-Zehr officiating. A reception will follow in the church's fellowship hall. Private family interment at Wanner Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to Conrad Grebel University College, the House of Friendship, Rockway Mennonite Collegiate, or the Mennonite Central Committee.
