Obituary of John Fisher
FISHER, John H. (1928-2012)
Passed away peacefully at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital on Sunday October 7, 2012 at the age of 84 years.
Father to Wendy Hetherington (Gord), Scott Fisher, and father-in-law to Pat Fisher (Wayne) all from Kitchener. Husband to Shirley (deceased Sept 2000) for 50 years. Predeceased by his son, Wayne Fisher (1997) and his sister, Mary Daub (1985). Brother to David (Carol) of Port Elgin, Stewart (Betty) of Stroud. Brother-in-law to Richard and Maureen Bradbeer of Mississauga, and to Gerth Daub of Kitchener. Loving Grandfather to Erin McCarthy (Cormac) of Lancaster Alberta, Laurie Hetherington (Ryan Danielczak) and Teri Hetherington (Shayne Egerdeen) all of Kitchener and to Adam Fisher (Jocelyn Bautista) of Vancouver, BC. John was also a loving Great-Grandfather to Lochiel, Keela, Carlin, Rhys, Zoe, Keegan, and Ashley.
John was a well respected man, who was involved in many activities throughout his life. He was a founding member of the K-W Racquet Club, a 50-year member of the Westmount Golf and Country Club, founding member and Past President and season ticket holder of the Kitchener Rangers Junior "A" Hockey Club. His main career was in the Beauty Business as he held countless positions for Beauticians' Supply Limited for 54 years as Vice President, before retiring in 1999. John will be missed by many friends who joined him in lunches and social outings, including annual golf trips to Port Elgin for many years. He was a long time member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church since 1964.
Friends are invited to share their memories of John with his family during a memorial visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The complete memorial service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Friday October 12, 2012 at 1 pm. The service will be officiated by Reverend Bill Shafer.
