Obituary of Irene Gilchrist

With her family by her side, Irene passed away suddenly, at Hamilton General Hospital, October 7, 2012 at the age of 79 years. Irene was predeceased by her husband Max and her granddaughter Nicole. Survived by her children, Linda (Bob) Boylan, Jim (Marie) Gilchrist, Rick (Debbie) Gilchrist and Shawn (Denise) Gilchrist, grandchildren Caroline, Paula "Paulywogs" (Kyle), Dorothy-Anne, Jamie, Garrick and her great-grandchild Luca. Also survived by her sister Marilyn (Bruce) Phillips, nieces and nephew Cherie, Cindy and David as well as her close friend Don Woodcock. Irene was a long-time member of the Wednesday morning ladies bowling league at Town Bowl. She has gone to the 'big casino' in the sky where she will continue her winning ways. Friends are invited to share their memories of Irene with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo, on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 (today) from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, October 10 at 9:30 am. A reception with the family will follow in the Historic Kuntz House and interment will take place at Woodland Cemetery.
