Obituary of Roger Roussel
On Saturday, October 6, 2012, Roger passed away, peacefully, in his sleep. He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Dawn (Rod Smith) and Denise (Jay Brogee). He will be missed by his grandchildren, Stephen (Katie) Brogee and Megan and Alex Smith. Roger will also be remembered by Rod's children, Brendan and Erin.
He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley (2001); his mother, Omerile; his father, Adrian; and his stepmother, Rita.
Born in Quebec, Roger was a lifelong Montreal Canadiens fan. He also enjoyed playing Shuffleboard, Euchre and Wild Rummy at the Navy Club and the Legion. Roger lived most of his 80 years in Kitchener, contentedly residing at Emmanuel Village for the past two years where he enjoyed playing Solo with the other residents and teasing the staff.
There will be a visitation for family and friends at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, October 11 from 7-9 p.m. A visitation with lunch will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 12 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., followed by a private family interment at Parkview Cemetery. Cremation has taken place.
We would like to thank the doctors and nurses at St. Mary's Hospital, the staff at CCAC, and everyone at Emmanuel Village for their care and compassion.
