Obituary of John Richardson

Passed away peacefully, after a short illness at his home, Emmanuel Village, Kitchener, on Sunday, October 21, 2012. He was born July 12th 1912 in Paris Ontario son of the late Fred & Ada (nee Needham) Richardson. Devoted and caring husband for 68 years of the late Irene Richardson (nee Adamson), Loving father of daughter Joy (Norm) Phillips of Paris, and son John (Ann) Richardson of Burlington. Much loved and respected Grandfather of Sheryl (Bobby) Sullivan , Cathy (Lloyd) Vandenberg , Kim (Geoff) Alviano , Jay (Angie) Richardson , Brett (Cynthia) Richardson and 20 Great Grandchildren plus 1 Great Great Grandchild. John is survived by his 2 brothers Tom (Eileen) Richardson of Toronto and Lloyd (Marjorie) of Ottawa. Predeceased by his parents Fred & Ada Richardson brother Harold and sister and brother in law Elsie & Newell Wendt. John's career started in Business with the Wincey Mills of Paris for 28 years. During these years he ministered extensively as a lay preacher also using his musical background to its fullest during those years. He was associated with Christian Business Men and the Gideons. In 1959 John went into full time ministry starting in London, Harriston, Stratford and Niagara Falls. In 1978 he came to Waterloo and after many great years stepped down at the age of 84. John lived his faith to the fullest celebrating his 100th birthday ministering to a packed church on July 8th 2012. Friends are invited to share their memories of Rev. John with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 6- 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Waterloo Pentecostal Assembly, 395 King Street North, Waterloo on Thursday, October 25 at 11:00 am. Reception to follow the service at the church. Interment at Memory Gardens.
