Obituary of Jitske Chapman

Passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at The Village of Winston Park Retirement Home at 87 years of age. Loving wife of the late Gordon Chapman (1999). Dearly loved mother of Marina and her husband John Tyson, Wendy Chapman, Gord and his wife Jeanette Chapman, and Francis Chapman. Loving grandmother of Marcia Tyson, David Tyson, Christine and Oren Birch, Veronica Chapman, Grant Chapman, Scott Chapman and his friend Michele Schlueter, Stacy and Brandon VanderGaast. Proud great-grandmother of Emily, Eric and Kiera. Also survived by nephews Ries and Janny Degoedt and family and Frans and Netty Degoedt of the Netherlands as well as nieces and nephews of her late husband. Predeceased by her parents and five siblings in the Netherlands. Jetty was born in the Netherlands, met and married her husband, a Canadian soldier, and immigrated to Canada as a war bride. Jetty was a quick learner and became very proficient in the English language and the Canadian way of cooking. She enjoyed camping with friends and family. Jetty moved to Winston Park six months ago and enjoyed participating in many of the daily activities and events. She was a faithful member of the Waterloo Christian Reformed Church and up until last year helped for many years with The Friendship Program. Jetty's family will receive friends and relatives at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Waterloo Christian Reformed Church, 209 Bearinger Rd., Waterloo on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Vicki Cok officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Breslau.
