We remember the example of your family standing together in adversity with remarkable devotion to each other. May the Lord continue to uplift wounded spirits and strengthen weary bodies. We think of the Christmas message from Isaiah, His name shall be called Everlasting Father.

Michele, Mckenzie and Jack - I am so sorry for the loss of Perry. I shared many stories and laughs with Perry at Lanark at the dinner table. Perry kept my dad up to date with all the latest baseball and hockey scores. He loved to talk and I will always remember that smile. My dad and him are at peace now. On behalf of my mother, Judy and brother Craig we are all thinking about you.

Michele, Mackenzie and Jack. I am sorry to hear of the loss of Perry. I worked with Perry at Bank of Montreal when he worked at the King & Hickory branch in Waterloo. It was some time between 1994 and 1998, but not sure when. I learned of his passing from someone else who worked with us at BMO. Although I didn't work with Perry long, I remember what a kind, caring person he was. I remember how much he cherished his family. To see his picture on this condolence brings a smile to my heart. It also brings great sadness to hear the world has lost such a great person. I hope your family finds peace in knowing Perry touched the lives of others, even if he knew them for a very short time. Share stories of Perry when you gather with your friends and family. Think of him often. To live in the hearts of those you love is not to die. Laurie Ritz, Bank of Montreal

Dear Michele, Mackenzie & Jack, I am very sorry to hear of the loss of your husband and dad. Along with others at St. Aidan's we have been praying for you and for Perry; sometimes praying for comfort and bodily healing, other times simply for God's peace in your lives. Several of us feel especially privileged to be able to share time on Friday mornings over breakfast with your dad. Our time includes stories, prayer and even a chuckle or two. During this time we have gotten to know your family just a little bit better and for that we thank God. I also thank God for all He has done and will continue to do in all our lives and I offer this prayer to you: GOD of all grace and power: Behold, visit, and relieve these thy servants; look upon them with the eyes of thy mercy, give them comfort and sure confidence in thee, defend them in all danger, and keep them in perpetual peace and safety; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. -- God bless, Rev. Phillip Rutledge St. Aidan's at Rivers Bend 519-791-1742

What a privilege it was to know Perry and enjoy his sense of humour and positive attitude. Michelle, you, Mackenzie and Jack have so much to be proud of, having Perry as a loving husband and father. Cherish the memories of all the great times you shared together as a family, and know that Perry is now in a better place, joining Angels to watch over you. With deepest sympathy to all of you.

Michele and family: I am so very sorry to hear that you have lost Perry. I didn't know him but I have heard so much about his courage, his sense of humour and his love for his family that I know that you have indeed lost a treasure. I can only hope that your profound sense of loss can be tempered somewhat by the knowledge that his body is now pain-free. I don't believe that he 'lost' his battle with MS - I prefer to believe that they called a truce. He wouldn't give up or give in and so he earned the peace that he has now reached. The credit union that my son works for is the title sponsor for an event that is raising money to support MS - - we can only hope that some day other families won't have to go through what you did; that they can enjoy the love and laughter without the pain. My thoughts and my heart are with you.

During this difficult time I would like to extend my most heartfelt sympathies. Both Lorne and I are thinking of you and the boys, Michelle, and only hope that with this donation, as well as the proceeds from the many MS Bike-a-thons I did with Perry in mind with every pedal stroke, I only hope and pray that a cure can soon be found so other families don't have to endure what you have endured with such strength and admiration. You are to be commended. You have lost a terrific soul mate in Perry, and God has another lovely Angel on his side. XO
