Obituary of Roy Walker
WALKER, Roy Murray
Passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the age of 88.
Predeceased by his beloved wife Hedy (April 2010) and his two brothers George and Elmer Walker. Roy is survived by his daughter Dianne Walker and son Bob (Linda) Walker, grandchildren Simon, Sarah, John, Patrick and Allison. Also survived by his brother Allen (Iona) Walker as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Roy served with the Canadian Army in the Second World War from 1942-1946. He married Hedy in 1946. Roy's career in the Police Service spanned 30 years including serving with the O.P.P. until his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking, photography and travelling. Roy was very active in the K-W Optimist Club where he was Past President and Lieutenant Governor as well as being an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church.
Friends and family are invited to share their memories of Roy with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church, 700 Glen Forrest Blvd., Waterloo on Wednesday, January 2, 11:00 am with Rev. Marcus Kuehn officiating. Cremation will follow.
