Obituary of Kevin Fanjoy

Passed away at home following a lengthy illness, surrounded by love and family, at the age of 45 years. Kevin is survived by his beloved wife Lisa of 20 years, his parents, Dennis and Bobbi of Elliot Lake, brother Jeff (Barb) of Sudbury, mother-in-law Elaine Phillips of Goderich, sister-in-law Lori (Gary) Erb of Goderich, brother-in-law Mark (Kelli) Phillips of Dallas Texas, and his cherished nieces and nephews, Lauren, Nathan and Kaelan Erb, John and Nicole Phillips, Kevin, Kyle and Michelle O'Connor of Sudbury. He was predeceased by his father-in-law John Phillips in 1995. Kevin graduated from Laurier, achieving his BBA, CMA, and MBA designations over the years. He worked as an accountant after graduation but found his true calling as an entreprenuer with the purchase of AEGIS from his then-employer, Barrday, in Arnprior in 1998. He held subsequent leadership roles at Pacific Safety Products, Protextion Products and Ralston Cansafe before moving to Nestle Waters Canada as Regional Logistics Manager. An avid golfer and a lifelong curler, Kevin curled throughout his life, appearing at the Ontario Tankard Playdowns in 2008. In 2005 Kevin and a friend formed "Work for a Cure", a local charity which has raised over $500,000 for cancer research. Kevin and Lisa enjoyed travelling and he found great pride in being an "awesome uncle" to his nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to share their memories of Kevin with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 5 - 9 pm. A celebration of Kevin's life will be held at the K-W Granite Club, 99 Seagram Drive, Waterloo on Friday, January 4 from 5 - 8 pm. Cremation has taken place.
