I've known of Mary for many years as the aunt/mother of schoolmates from high school, but didn't really get to know her until I had the good fortune of being seated by her when I joined Menno Singers a few years ago. Even though most of the altos had been in the choir for years (or decades), Mary quickly helped me feel at home. It was a pleasure to get to know her in this context in the last few years; I will deeply miss her singing over my left shoulder. My deepest condolences to the Martin and Snider families in this time of loss, may you be comforted in knowing that Mary will be missed and remembered with a smile and a song.

To the family with our sympathy. We will all miss Mary a great deal. She was always a positive addition to any gathering and we so much appreciated her as part of the Martin family... I have known Mary since the early 70's and I beleive she was a great fan of the Carpenters. I remember when travelling to Iowa with Ken that he needed to buy a certain album for her. I am sure if there had been a dance at their wedding the first dance would have been to "We've Only Just Begun" Mary, while we will miss you here on earth, your life in eternity Has Just Begun, perhaps dressed in white and certainly with God`s promise to you now fulfilled.

Mary was a treasured colleague and friend during our days at Courtland. I learned so much about how to be a kinder teacher and person by watching her example. I will miss her dearly. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

When the news came to us last fall that Mary was sick it was a shock. In all the years I knew Aunt Mary I cannot think of one time that I ever saw her under the weather. She was always happy and so full of joy - especially when she spoke about her grandbabies. Every conversation included smiles and a spark of laughter in her twinkling eyes. I will miss the routine visits she and I had as part of the "sausage run", the offer of a tea, whether hot if we were inside, or iced if it was nice enough to sit out on the patio. Mary was a wonderful mentor, full of grace and wisdom. You will be missed. With Love, Lori
