Obituary of Evelyn Schmidt

Passed away peacefully at Columbia Forest Long Term Care Centre on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the age of 95 years. Beloved wife of the late Oscar George Schmidt, who predeceased her on March 11, 1982. Loving mother of Barbara Kuntz and her husband Raymond, Judith Guenther and her friend Jack Cochrane, and Dianne Gedney (Seip) and her husband Brian. Cherished grandmother of Wendy Jackson, Shelley Matheson (Allan), Dale Kuntz (Janice), Richard Guenther, Randall Guenther, David Guenther (Cindy), Chad Seip (Maylin), and Kristy Shute (Dave). Great-grandmother of Jennifer Maillet (Troy); Kristen and Robbie Jackson; Jocelyn, Joey, and Kaia Guenther; Hanna and Holly Matheson; Emily Shute and Dario Seip. Dear sister of William Weinstein and his wife Grace. Predeceased by sisters, Ruth Shilling, and infant Margaret Weinstein; brothers Robert Weinstein, infant Earl and John Weinstein; and grandson Brad Davis (Kuntz). Special thanks to the staff at Watson House Columbia Forest for their outstanding care of Evelyn, also her neighbours at 315 Margaret Avenue and especially Dorothy, Marg and Ann. Evelyn was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and belonged to the Town Bowl Ladies League for many years. She will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. Friends are invited to share their memories of Evelyn with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St., S., Waterloo on Tuesday, January 22 from 1 - 2 p.m. with a funeral service at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
