Obituary of Norma Chin-Cheong

After a brief illness, Norma, a long-time resident of Luther Village, passed away peacefully at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener on Saturday, January 26, 2013, in her 84th year. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrie Chin-Cheong, her granddaughter, Vicki Chin-Cheong and her sister, Theresa DeSousa. Norma is survived by her children, Peter (Sharon) Chin-Cheong, Dave Chin-Cheong (Janine LaMarre) and Jacqui (Doug) Williamson. Loving grandmother of six grandsons, Randal, Kyle, Kieran, Devin, Theron and Jared. Aunt of Judy Perez, Susane DeSousa, Maria Piper, and of Lawrie's nephews and nieces. She will be lovingly remembered by all her cousins in Trinidad, Canada, USA and Venezuela. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Norma during visitations at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 8:30 p.m. On Saturday, February 2, 2013, prayers will be offered at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m., followed by a procession to St. Michael RC Church, 240 Hemlock St. (at University Ave.), Waterloo for the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Peter Wayow, C.S.Sp. as Celebrant. Cremation will follow on another day. After the funeral Mass a reception will be held in the Muskoka Lounge at The Sunshine Centre, 141 Father David Bauer Dr., Waterloo.
