Obituary of Robert Skinulis
Skinulis,Robert Edward (Bob), Passed away in Hamilton in the early hours January 31, 2013 - Beloved Husband of Carole Castonguay.
Bob was born September 4, 1940 to Mary Memryk and Edward Skinulis in Brandon Manitoba. Bob moved to Ontario in 1945 and grew up in Hamilton. Bob moved to Oshawa at an early age and has lived in various places in the United States and Canada. Bob worked in the car industry as a project engineer for the installation of lines for new car models, Bob was an integral part of the operations for Ford, Chrysler, G.M & Michelin Tires in Quebec and Nova Scotia. Bob was also the owner and operator of Serpent River Camp in Spanish, Ont. In the 1980's. Volunteer for the North Star youth organization, and a 25 yr member of the Oshawa Barber Shop Quartet.
Bob is survived by son Robert (Bobby) and wife Kendall (Burtch-Skinulis) of Courtice and daughter Nathalie (Tally) and partner Joel Lloyd of Scarborough, Laurie Hughes and husband Stafford of Pickering and Jennifer Hintz and husband Joe of Kitchener. Grandchildren Nathan Lloyd, Summer Castonguay, Sabrina Hintz, Casey and Devin Hughes. Sisters Lynda Glendinning (Clare) and Myrna Simpson of Oshawa. Bob is also survived by his aunts Lena Edward & Aldona Skinulis
Friends are invited to share their memories of Bob with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday February 3, 2013 from 2-4 p.m. A celebration of Bob's Life will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 4 p.m. with Rev. Bruce Sweet officiating. Reception to follow in the Fireside Room of the Funeral Home. Cremation will follow at Parkview Crematorium.
