Obituary of Shirley Welker

Passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Heritage House, St. Jacob's. Predeceased by her husband, Richard Welker on September 23, 2001. Also predeceased by her sister-in-law Freida (Eldon Weber) and her brother-in-law Steve (Edna) Welker. Shirley is survived by her son Drew Welker of Kitchener, her daughter Katherine Boettger and her husband Tim Boettger of Waterloo, godson Ronald Welker, good family friend Leo Adams and several nieces and nephews. Shirley was born July 17, 1934 in Toronto. She was a longtime employee of Schendel's Stationery Ltd of Waterloo and retired early to enjoy wintering in Panama City Beach Florida with her husband Richard. She was a great mother, a great cook and a great friend to all. Shirley especially enjoyed playing Solo, Euchre and Cribbage. She will be dearly missed by her travelling and card companion Louise Boettger. Shirley was a grand lady who loved her "Tea Time" passionately. She had a wonderful sense of humour and we will all miss her presence so very much. The funeral service will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 11:00 am. A reception will follow in the Fireside Reception Room and interment will take place in Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo. Cremation will have taken place.
