Obituary of Mervin Aitken

AITKEN, Mervin (Merv) 1933 - 2013 Passed away, peacefully, after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by his family at Lisaard House, on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at the age of 79. Merv is survived by his wife of 56 years, Anne (nee Thomson); brother, Gordon (Jean) Aitken; sister, Helen Knapp; son, Terry (Cathy) Aitken; daughter, Julie Hay; grandchildren, Shannon (Doug) Marriott, Doug Aitken, Kyle (Kristyna) Hay; and great-grandson, Tallon Marriott. Merv is remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents and sister, Marion (Gordy) Robertson. Merv retired from B.F. Goodrich after 42 years of dedicated service. Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Merv during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 12 - 12:45 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. A reception will immediately follow the service in the funeral home's Historic Kuntz House. Spring interment at Harriston Cemetery.
