Obituary of Dorothea Koehlmann
After a long struggle with Parkinson's disease, Dorothea passed away peacefully at Freeport Hospital Kitchener, age 81.
Dorothea, nee Stribrny, leaves behind her husband Friedrich "Fred" Koehlmann, children Frederick (Kathryn) Koehlmann of Toronto, Joanne (Robert) McWade of Guelph and Heidi (Patrick) Lambie of Calgary Alberta as well as her beloved grandchildren Katie, Lyndsay, Amanda, Taylor, Freddy, Christopher and great-grandchildren Sara, Emyllia, Claire.
Dorothea is survived by her brother Bernhard Stribrny, sisters-in-law Christel Stribrny and Lucia Reinhardt all of Germany and her sister-in-law Rose-Marie, Koehlmann of USA.
Predeceased by her brother Wolfgang Stribrny and parents Richard and Johanna, nee Peikert, of Germany.
Dorothea was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, Catholic Women's League. Dorothea was also a retired Registered Nurse, Midwife and longtime volunteer with Birthright.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Dorothea with her family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm with Parish Prayers at 8:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, 49 Blueridge Ave, Kitchener on Wednesday, March 6 at 10:30 am with the Rev. Joseph de Viveiros as Celebrant. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall. Cremation and interment at Woodland Cemetery to take place at a later date.
