Obituary of Patricia Adams
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 28, 2013 at Grand River Hospital. She was just short of her 86th birthday.
Jean was born on St. Patrick's Day in Nova Scotia, a place dear to her heart. She was a school teacher in East Hansford and later was a sales clerk at Upper Stewiacke Co-op in Nova Scotia. She moved to Kitchener in 1950 where she married Roland Cox. Jean was a fantastic stay-at-home mom and cook. She later worked at Zellers and at Cook's Pharmacy in Kitchener.
Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 26 years, William (Bill) Adams. Dear mother to Linda (Richard) Sill and Frank Cox and step-mother to Donald (Gail) Adams, Carrie (Gerald) Miller, Kelly (Alan) Wright. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Amy Sill, Nathan (Melissa) Sill, Jessie and Emily Cox; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Danika, Eden; nine step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Roland (Bub) Cox in 1969; parents, Joseph and Bertha (nee Ross) Smith; foster parents, Odessa and Ward Giddens; brother, Spencer; and sister, Dorothy and their spouses.
Family and friends were the love of her life.
Relatives and friends are invited to share memories of Jean during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, March 3 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 4, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment at Mount Hope Cemetery, Kitchener with a reception following in the funeral home's Fireside Reception Room.
