Obituary of Frieda Szabo

It's with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of our mother, Frieda Szabo, at her home, on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at the age of 80. Frieda came to Canada from Austria in 1957 and soon thereafter started a family with her late husband Alex. Frieda leaves behind daughters Christina and her husband Michael of Guelph and Dr. Angelika Szabo of Duncan, BC as well as sons Alex and his wife Dr. Erica Leenders of London and Leslie of Guelph. Fondly remembered by grandchildren, Natasha, Zachary, Joshua and Samantha of Duncan, BC and dear friend Elizabeth and her son Walter. Frieda had a great sense of humour and took joy in making others laugh. A devout Catholic and a long time parishioner of St. Agnes Church, Frieda's faith kept her strong. Her favourite verse was "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and through it all, I have kept the faith." She would often say that "we all go home" eventually so we take solace in knowing that she's now at peace. Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St S., Waterloo on Monday, March 18, 2013 from 10 to 11 am. The funeral service will follow in the Funeral Home Chapel at 11a.m. with Rev. Dan Lobsinger, C.R. officiating. Interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
