Obituary of Marion Halliday

The family and friends of Marion Halliday regret her passing on Thursday, March 14 at the age of 92 at St. Mary=s Hospital in Kitchener. Marion was born in the Township of Carrick, Ontario on the 15th day of April, 1920. She was the beloved wife of Earl whom she married in April 1945 and was married to for 64 years until he predeceased her on August 4, 2009. Marion was also predeceased by her parents Scott Inglis and Agnes Aitken. Marion was the 5th of 6 children. She was predeceased by all of her siblings including Elizabeth (Carl) Tegler, Grace (Herman) Tegler, Jean Inglis, Thomas Inglis (Rhoda and second wife Janet), Robert Inglis. Marion will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews including: Mary Read, Carol Tegler, Dave Tegler, Sylvia Tegler, John Tegler, Robert Tegler, Elenor Gibson, Marlene Kloostra and Ian Inglis and many great nieces and nephews. Marion was a member of St. Andrew=s Presbyterian Church and a resident of Waterloo Heights Apartments. She was an active participant in many of the home=s activities or simply enjoyed quiet time in her apartment surrounded by her many keepsakes. She enjoyed entertaining her many friends and enjoyed the friendships she made with both residents and staff. Marion=s family wishes to express their thanks to the emergency staff and the 5th floor staff and nurses at St. Mary=s Hospital. Marion was also blessed by the care and concern provided by her niece, Marlene Kloostra, and her friend, Diane Pond. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Marion=s life will be hosted by her family and friends on Tuesday, March 19 at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to visit commencing at 10:30 a.m. with a service to be held in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow in the home after the service.
