Obituary of Rudolf Planta

Planta, Rudolf Alexander passed away peacefully in the care of Hospice Wellington on Saturday, March 30, 2013 in his 87th year. Loving husband of Janny Planta (van Loenen). Dear father of Jack (Laurie) of Mount Forest, Henry (Joan) of Waterloo, Ron (Cheryle) of Drayton and Marianne of Waterloo. Missed by Susan (Mike) of Waterloo. Beloved Opa of Cheryl (Tim), Jennifer (Brad), Kristen (Zac), Gillian (Richard), Justin, Michael (Lauren), Ross (Allison), Vicki and Damir; Great Opa to Emma, Abbey and Olivera. Also survived by a sister Marie, a brother Jacques and many caring relatives, all in The Netherlands. Predeceased by sisters Francine and Riek, and a sister-in-law Joop all in The Netherlands. Affectionately known to some as "Pa Kettle", Rudy was a tool & die maker by trade and an "Opa will fix it" to his grandchildren. Rudy moved his family around the world in the early years starting in The Netherlands then to Australia and finally settling in Canada in 1967. These travels provided the family with many adventures and memories while living in these wonderful countries. Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering at Parkview Cemetery will occur at a later date. The family wishes to express a special thank you to Shirley H. and Faith from Warm Embrace Elder Care and to the staff at Hospice Wellington for their care and compassion.
