Obituary of Daphne Hague
Daphne Hague (nee Stethem) passed away suddenly but comfortable at home as a result of unexpected heart failure on Wednesday, May 22, 2013.
Survived by her devoted husband Kenneth of 62 wonderful years. Loving mother of John (Suzanne), Kenneth (Danielle), David (Bridget), Gordon (Wendy) and Nancy Long (Derek). Cherished granny of Christopher (Amanda), Matthew (Matthew), Daphne, Philip, Melanie, Katherine, Rachel, Allison, Natalie, Sarah, Steven and great granny to Arianna. Dear sister of Pamela Shuter. Also sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her brother John Stethem and sister Cecilia Bryson.
Daphne's early school days were spent in lovely Beaurepaire. High school was finished in Westmount with a degree from McGill to follow. From an early age she loved to ski and met her husband-to-be on the "Big Hill" at Shawbridge. Lucky Kenneth!
After her marriage in 1951, Daphne became a wonderful wife and mother raising 5 children in Chatham, Montreal, Toronto and Waterloo. Summers saw Daphne's growing family gather at Lac Manitou which she helped make a very special place. She took tremendous pride in her children, later her grand-children and most recently her great grand-daughter.
Daphne shared with all her family and many friends a beautiful smile that perfectly reflected her tremendously positive approach to life.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Daphne will take place on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo at 2:30p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel. A reception will follow the service in the Fireside Reception Room.
