Obituary of Derio Casselli
Peacefully, at the age of 89, on Friday, June 28, 2013 at Grand River Hospital.
Predeceased by his wife Irma (Noemer) Casselli and parents Maria and Joseph Casselli.
Beloved father of Richard (Diane) Casselli, Philip (Carole) Casselli and Robert (Jennifer) Casselli, all of Kitchener, and Louise (Richard) Hollingsworth, Tina (Doug) Lehmann and Patricia McMillan, all of Waterloo. Grandfather of Eddie, Alex, Nick, Thea, Amybeth, Timothy, Laura, John, Christopher, Jacquie and Ben Casselli, Steven Lehmann, Sonia Gracan, Andrew Hollingsworth, Jeffrey McMillan and Colleen Corless. Great-grandfather of Lia, Alivia, Gwen and Willem (Casselli), Madeline, Fiona, Avery and Isaac (Lehmann), Sophia and Sebastian (Gracan) and Brooklyn, Ari and Bella McMillan. Sadly missed by his sisters, Laura (Lucien) Allaire and Edera Rattenbury.
Derio was a veteran of the Armed Forces World War II and had worked as a stationary engineer before he retired from Uniroyal. Derio's positive outlook on life, sense of humour and calming presence will be missed by all he touched.
Visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo on Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with Parish Prayers at 8:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes RC Church, 173 Lourdes St. W., Waterloo on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with Monsignor Edward Sheridan as celebrant. A reception in the parish hall will immediately follow the mass. A family interment will follow at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo.
