I just learned of Miss Wideman's passing. I remember her with great fondness, my Dad(DR.Gordon Thomas) having worked with her for several years. She was such a gentle lady and very highly thought of in St.Anthony and by all the Grenfell staff.

The Grenfell Hospital, St. Anthony, NF has flown the flags at hallf-mast the past 2 days in honour of Anna. My wife, Erma, and I attended the service this a.m. We just happened to be in Ontario visiting family and learned of her death. My sympathies for your loss. Anna was an amazing woman, paving the way for other brave and inspiring women to come. I always thought of her as a pioneer in the field of nursing and admired her willingness to go the rough conditions of northern Newfoundland as part of her nursing career.
