Obituary of Andrew Hood-Morris

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of a very special man. Andrew was born in Kitchener, on December 1, 1968 and died on August 30, 2013. Cherished son of Rosalind Hood-Morris. Beloved brother of Gregory and Wendy and adored uncle of John (Cambridge). Nephew to Elizabeth Morris (Cambridge), Christina Phypers and her husband Richard Relf (Waterloo), Jennifer and Roger Pyke (Richmond Hill) and Bob and Hilda Morris (Brisbane, Australia). He will be sadly missed by his cousins: Jonathan, Alysia, Blythe, Robert, Rodney and Laura. Also Dr John Smith and his family - Robin Smith (Heather) and John Smith (Beryl) with their children Duncan, Rosie, April and Yasmyn. He was predeceased by his father Peter Hood-Morris in 2006. Andrew was a kind, gentle man with a great sense of humour . He loved travel and, for many years, went on camping trips with his Dad. He also went on a six-month trip to Australia and the far east in 2004 and a three-month tour of North America in 2010. He loved playing scrabble, although few could beat him. His greatest joy though was in the times he spent playing with his nephew John and watching the Leafs play on a Saturday night. For many years he worked for the OPSEU Pension Trust in Toronto. He loved children and was known for setting great treasure hunts as well as for his witty, offbeat sense of humour and the thoughtful, often mischievous presents he chose for people. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends and relatives at a memorial visitation at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home,171 King St. S., Waterloo, from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4th. A memorial service in celebration of Andrew's life will be held at the Church of the Holy Saviour, 33 Allen Street East, Waterloo, on Thursday, September 5th at 11:00 am followed by refreshments in the Church Hall. There will be a private family interment at Parkview Cemetery, Waterloo, at a later date.
